Digerati teamed up with FILEX Foundation

Filex Foundation is the uppermost Filipino community and humanitarian organization in UAE that envisions the welfare of all Filipinos in the UAE. The Foundation was established by well-know Filipino expatriates in the UAE headed by Mr. Dick Orense, Ms. Isabelita Warren, Mr. Ernesto Refugio and other known community leaders under the leadership of our very own His Excellency Libran N. Cabactulan, the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE.

Filex was instituted in UAE and registered in Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with registration number CN200809554, as non-stock, non-profit Corporation of Filipino expatriates formed and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

The primary objective is to set up a 2 Million Dirhams as Foundation Capital Fund (FCF) which has been pre-designed to earn interest, from safe and sound investments, which will be allocated as the revolving fund known as Foundation Disposable Fund (FDF) that is available for Filipino expatriates in dire need.

The recent visit of H.E. Ambassador Cabactulan, to the Ministry of Social Affairs, H. E. Mariam Mohammad Khalfan Al Roumi, UAE’s Minister of Social Affairs approved Filex to operate officially under the auspices of our Philippine Embassy.

Filex Foundation and Philippine National Red Cross plan to have a tripartite agreement on ways to help our compatriots in dire need and our country with the much needed aid and assistance.

All Filipinos in Dubai are highly advised and encouraged to become member of Filex and avail of the assistance given to the members as soon as required fund is met.

Digerati is not only committed to our knowledge advancement but also would like to ensure the wellbeing of all its students and members; therefore, Digerati is requiring compulsory membership to Filex Foundation starting this 15th May 2009. Please encourage everyone in your family, circle of friends, colleagues, office mates, flat mates to become member of Filex Foundation.

Your lifetime membership to Filex Foundation will be AED30/- and an exceptional offer of life insurance premium of AED15/-. By paying more or less AED1/- per month you are well insured against any adversity that may cross our way. The insurance covered the jurisdiction of United Arab Emirates with the following proceeds:

1. Accidental Death of up to AED50,000/-
2. Permanent Total Disability due to Accident of up to (AED50,000/-)
3. Accidental Medical Expenses (AED5,000/- per person per annum)
4. Repatriation Expenses (AED7,500/- from worldwide to place of origin)

Upon registration, please bring along with you some additional items as follows:

1. 3 x passport size I. D. photo;
2. Passport copy with residence visa;
3. AED30 for Filex Foundation lifetime membership;
4. AED15 for one year life insurance.
